The Pennsylvania Conservation Corps (PCC) is a statewide program that offers work experience, job training and educational opportunities to young people (18-25 years old) who complete conservation, recreation and historical preservation projects on the state's public lands. The PCC is currently recruiting capable individuals to teach trade skills (carpentry, masonry, electrical wiring, Plumbing, flooring) to crew members. Each instructor will teach a one-week class in one of the disciplines. The classes will be held in the spring of 2010, with actual dates to be determined in conjunction with the successful applicants. Each will run Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, for a total of 32 hours of instruction. This is a perfect position for a retired vo-tech instructor or a skilled tradesperson who knows how to instruct students in his or her craft. Teaching certification is not required, but would be beneficial. This is indoor, classroom instruction for a crew of six to eight members. All required tools and material are supplied.
