Curriculum Specialist

 F/T with Benefits. Post-Secondary Position. Designs and develops curriculum content, training materials, training modules, teaching aids, and manages all aspects of the curriculum development program to include, but not limited to: CPI diploma and degree programs, safety, industry, technical skills, management and leadership development. Development activities include technical, core, academic, and general education components.

This individual is expected to work with the CPI staff and instructors, as well as the external business partners to illicit their expertise and input to ensure accuracy and standardization of all training materials and content. The Curriculum Specialist is expected to deliver accurate, high-quality documentation within a specified deadline and timeline and will work with web-based media. Alignment and compliance with requirements of governing entities (examples: US and PA Department of Education) and accrediting bodies is an expectation of this position. The Curriculum Specialist will utilize adult learning principles to develop all instructional materials.

 Desired Education, Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

 Knowledgeable and functional in technical writing, including consistent and correct use of tense, grammar/spelling and terminology that is interesting and varied.

 ·         Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

 ·         Good organization skills and time management skills; ability to be flexible and solve problems.

 ·         Strong proof-reading skills to produce error-free documents.

 ·         Ability to communicate through verbal and written means with individuals, small groups and in front of large audiences at all levels of the organization.

 ·         Knowledgeable and experienced in applying adult learning principles.

 ·         Education - minimum of bachelor’s degree

 ·         Minimum of three years instructional experience

 ·         Competence with web and software (e.g. Microsoft Office) systems

 ·         Two years of curriculum development experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting

 ·         Experience with e-learning components and modules used in instruction

 Duties of the Position Include:

 ·         Designs training courses, diploma, degree, and certificate programs - including classroom lectures, online courses, and self-study sessions, directed at employees, organization members, or those who use the organization's products or services.

 ·         Develops and updates course content and coordinates learning curriculum.

 ·         Meets with staff and constituents to develop and align relevant course content.

 ·         Leads development and utilization of CPI curriculum resources (ex: Guides4Learning).

 ·         Conducts assessment and analysis to identify new development needs and recommends training methods accordingly.

 ·         Works with CPI industry partners to align class and lab-based training to meet specific partner needs.

 ·         Maintains in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of curriculum strategies in a post-secondary setting.

 ·         May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 ·         Maintains compliance with institutional and programmatic regulatory authorities.

 ·         Assists adjunct and full time instructors with implementation and delivery of CPI curriculum.

FBI Criminal Record Check, PA State Police Criminal History Report, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release and Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse Training Certificate must be completed upon hire. Position advertised until filled. EOE.
